Our Puerto Rican ground team is the heart and soul of our organization. These incredible individuals are our frontline rescuers and are the first to respond to a dog in need. They bring dogs to safety, manage feeding routes, foster, transport dogs to the veterinarian and to the airport, and provide PSD

with a constant pulse on the needs of the local community.

We are blessed with a supportive, attentive, and expert veterinary team who share our passion for rescue. Our Puerto Rican veterinarians provide our dogs with high quality care and boarding and performed literal miracles bringing some of our dogs back from the brink of death. Our primary stateside veterinarian provides our dogs with any extended care they may need after arrival to the mainland, providing expertise and support for some of our most challenging and persistent medical cases.

We strongly believe that change can be best enacted through cooperation and collaboration. We are proud to work closely with a dedicated group of partners in rescue. These individuals each have built and run their own organizations. Together, we collaborate on individual rescue cases and provide each other with guidance, support, and resources. We cannot speak highly enough of each of the individuals listed below and are so lucky to have them as collaborators in the fight to reduce suffering on the island.
